I was a ghost visiting the underworld which was a just like the living world but grey, black and white. I could still be seen in the living world. At first the dream had me and a group of people who had some sort of mission and we had to catch the underground trains. Then it morphed into we were just living life as ghosts. It then morphed into my husband already have been a ghost in the underworld and he knew the system to not pay to catch the train to work. Except we weren’t dead. There was a monkey train guard who made sure everyone paid. We weren’t late to catch the train home and were waylaid. We then heard screaming and through a hole that led to the underworld world, my two daughters jumped because they thought we were dead and wanted to be with us.
Dreams are complex and can often be interpreted in several ways, depending on personal experiences and emotions. Here's a detailed interpretation of your dream:
Being a Ghost in the Underworld: This setting may symbolize a feeling of being in transition or caught between different stages or aspects of life. The underworld being just like the living world but in monochrome could suggest a perception that life feels dulled or lacking in color (enthusiasm or joy). Being a ghost might represent feelings of being unnoticed or disengaged in your waking life.
Mission with a Group of People: Engaging in a mission suggests a sense of purpose or duty, perhaps indicating that you and those around you are working towards a common goal or are in search of deeper meaning in your life.
Morphing into Living as Ghosts: This shift could reflect an adaptation or acceptance of a current state of being. It suggests acclimating to a situation that initially might have felt foreign or uncomfortable.
Husband’s Knowledge of the System: Your husband being familiar with this ghost system might signify trust in your relationship, or perhaps a reliance on someone else's experience and wisdom during uncertain times in your life.
Train as a Symbol: The underground trains likely symbolize pathways or journeys in your life. The act of catching trains could represent navigating life's various transitions or challenges. Trains being underground highlights themes of subconscious thoughts or emotions.
Monkey Train Guard: The dream introduces a whimsical, unusual character—a monkey train guard—to oversee this transition. This might symbolize unexpected challenges or gatekeepers in your path that you might need to consider or confront.
Daughters Jumping Through the Hole: This part of the dream appears to deal with family connections and concerns. The fear that your daughters would follow you into this underworld, thinking you were dead, could reflect anxieties about your influence on loved ones or feelings of separation from them.
General Themes:
Personal Coping Mechanisms: These scenarios might also metaphorically explore how you deal with not readily confronting or addressing problems, as symbolized by circumventing payment to catch the ghost train.
Overall, your dream seems to be navigating through the intricate balance of life's transitions, the influence on family, and the notion of internal vs. external acknowledgment of change and responsibility. Exploring these themes more in your waking life might provide clarity or peace with what your subconscious mind is working through.
